The OPCW Director-General Fernando Arias and Ambassador Thomas Schieb signed an agreement on 15 December 2025 on a voluntary contribution of 2 Mio Euro by Germany in order to support the OPCW's activities in Syria.

It is very important that the OPCW is going to verify the destruction of the remnants of Assad’s chemical weapons in Syria as soon as possible. States Parties need to support this important endeavor financially and by providing in-kind contribution. Below you find the OPCW press release for additional information.
